Our Story

Jorge Morales set out to find a life project to which he could dedicate his efforts after retiring as a librarian for the USDA Forest Service.

After a failed attempt with a citrus plantation, Jorge met several key people who guided him and and helped him develop his interest in cocoa production.

Thanks to this, in 2015 the Hacienda Terruño JS was born, as part of the first 10 farmers that the chocolate company Cortés Hermanos supported in promoting cocoa production in Puerto Rico and the Caribbean.

Currently Jorge and his family also make handmade gourmet chocolate under the brand Tanibé. Do you want to learn more about our story and about high quality cocoa production?
